Drafting Works
The Drawings That Make Your Project Actually Happen

It All Starts With a Good Set of Plans
Most people don't think much about drafting until they need it. Then they realise pretty quickly that without accurate, well-prepared drawings, nothing moves. The builder can't quote properly. The certifier won't approve it. The council won't stamp it. And even if they do, something gets lost in translation on site and you end up with a result that doesn't match what you had in your head.
Good drafting is the foundation of a good project. It's not the glamorous part of design. Nobody frames their floor plans and hangs them on the wall. But get it wrong and everything built on top of it is wrong too.
At Daymoon Design, we take drafting seriously. Not because it's complicated but because the people relying on those drawings deserve accuracy, clarity, and documentation they can actually work with.

What we draft
Residential Floor Plans Clear, dimensioned floor plans for new homes, extensions, and renovations. Drawn to Australian standards and formatted for council submissions, building permits, and construction use. Whether you're building from scratch or adding a second storey, we prepare plans that capture every room, every wall, every opening exactly as intended.
Elevations & Sections External elevations showing all four sides of a building. Internal sections cutting through the key spaces to show ceiling heights, floor levels, and structural relationships. These drawings tell the story of a building that a floor plan alone simply can't.
Site Plans A properly prepared site plan showing the building footprint, setbacks, boundaries, easements, north point, and surrounding context. Essential for development applications and council submissions across Australia.
Construction Documentation Detailed construction drawings that go beyond the basic permit set. Joinery details, wall sections, connection details, schedules, and specifications that give your builder the information needed to actually construct the building properly. Less guesswork on site means fewer variations and a smoother build.
Renovation & Extension Drawings Existing conditions plans, demolition plans, and proposed works drawings for residential renovations and extensions. We document what's there, show what's coming down, and clearly illustrate what's being built. Exactly what certifiers and councils need to see.
As-Built Drawings Sometimes buildings get built and nobody keeps the drawings. Or the drawings that exist don't reflect what was actually constructed. We prepare as-built documentation from site measurements and inspections, giving you an accurate record of the building as it actually stands today.
Subdivision & Lot Plans Lot layout plans, subdivision drawings, and boundary documentation for residential and small commercial subdivisions. Prepared in coordination with surveyors and planners to support the subdivision application process.
Commercial Drafting Fit-out drawings, tenancy plans, and commercial construction documentation for retail, office, and light industrial projects. We understand the additional layers of compliance that come with commercial work and prepare documentation accordingly.
Who Need Drafting Services

More people than you might think. We regularly prepare drawings for:
Homeowners who have a design in mind but need proper plans prepared for their builder and council. People who are adding a room, a garage, a granny flat, or a second storey and need documentation that meets their local council's requirements. Developers who need a full set of construction documents before they can break ground. Architects and designers who need a reliable drafting resource to support their own workflow. Builders who need as-built plans for a project that was never properly documented. Small businesses fitting out a new premises who need drawings for their building permit.
If you need drawings and you're not sure whether we can help, just ask. The answer is usually yes.
How We Work
You Send Us What You Have That might be a full architectural concept, a rough sketch on paper, old plans from a previous permit, or just a site survey and a clear idea of what you want. We work with whatever you've got and ask the right questions to fill in the gaps.
We Prepare the Documentation We draw everything up in CAD to Australian standards, checking dimensions, setbacks, and compliance requirements as we go. We don't just draft what you give us. We think about what we're drawing and flag anything that looks like it could cause a problem down the track.
You Review and We Refine We send you the drawings for review before anything is finalised. You check everything, ask questions, request changes. We refine until the set is right.
Final Issue We issue the final drawings in the format you need. PDF for submissions and builder use. DWG or DXF if your engineer or certifier needs to work from the CAD file. Whatever the project requires, we deliver it properly.
Australian Standards and Compliance
Every set of drawings we produce is prepared to Australian drafting standards and formatted to meet the requirements of the relevant state or local council. We understand that different councils have different submission requirements, different setback rules, and different levels of documentation they expect to see.
We keep up with changes to the NCC, relevant Australian Standards, and state-based planning legislation so the drawings we produce are compliant from the start. Not after two rounds of corrections from the certifier
Why Daymoon Design for Drafting
There are plenty of places to get drawings done. Here is why our clients come to us and keep coming back.
We are thorough. We check our work and we think about what we are drawing, not just how to draw it. We communicate clearly. You always know where your drawings are in the process and when to expect them. We understand the full project. Because our team also works in 3D modelling, GIS, landscape, and interior design, we understand how drawings connect to the bigger picture of a project. And we are easy to deal with. No chasing for updates, no surprises on delivery, no drawings that don't match what was agreed.
